Keeping That CPD Requirement In Mind

Nursing has evolved greatly over the last twentyyears or so.  In fact, I was talking to someone who first trained back the ’30s and it was very much a case of attending your local Nurse Training school for interview and once in, three years of ward based – all on the job training finishing with the end of training exams.  Then  you became a State Registered Nurse.  Those who were not so committed did a 2 year training course to become State Enrolled – this offered less chances of progression and was not rated quite so highly by Matron, naturally.  These days it is a degree based career and every opportunity for CPD – career personal development, must be taken.  A minimum of 35 credits are required within each 3 year period and to aid this, many really good online courses are available for nurses to register and keep to their responsibilities.
