There is a current shortage of trained nurses of every discipline and grade in the NHS.  In fact it sounds like there is a similar problem in the private industry.   However, in the wake of the Brexit vote, a great deal of uncertainty has crept into every industry, healthcare and hospital nursing being a major one.  Certain sectors have good reciprocal arrangements with other countries like Spain and Portugal for their staff to come and work over here – but with the possible shift away from totally free movement, there are fewer coming over.  In care homes for example, the nurses from europe work a few months to get their status allowing them to become available for NHS employment.

Existing nursing staff are ensuring they keep as qualified as possible to take up promotional grades where possible.  Training is the key to everything today.  Every field and industry needs training courses to progress.
